Kathy McBride

My paintings are inspired by individual moments. Often such memories lead me to the subject matter..... other times it is pure serendipity. I love the juxtaposition of figures in whimsical spaces or out of context. My work reflects moments and objects that are deeply rooted in the collective conscience of an era that many of us share. I am drawn to the human experience, illustrated with the use of colour, pattern and line. Colours fuse and meld to achieve gesture, transforming abstract images into living moments. I strive to follow my instincts and when I make a connection, I realize that my art is the best part of me.

Kathy McBride is a St. Catharines native. McBride returned to the Niagara region after discovering a deep connection to her past surroundings. She is a lucky wife, mother, sister, daughter & friend, who has the support of many to create her art. Kathy lives downtown with her husband & 2 boys.
